A Dublin man is €500,000 richer after claiming the whopper prize in a Daily Millions draw.
The huge sum was won in the April 15 daily Plus draw which took place at 9pm.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Tesco Superstore on Whitestown Road in Rush.
The lucky winner said: " I was actually walking around with the ticket in my wallet for a few weeks before I even checked it and realised just how much it was worth. When I did eventually check the ticket on my phone, I couldn’t believe it. I got the message to say that I had won a big prize but never expected this.
"Even after I called the National Lottery to confirm the win, I was almost waiting for them to tell me that this was all a big mistake and that I hadn’t won the top prize at all – I’m glad to say that didn’t happen!”
“I will definitely be taking a holiday to celebrate as soon as it’s safe to do so – I’m sure most people are looking forward to getting away after the past year. I plan to take my time in thinking what else to do but the good fortune will definitely be put to good use.”
Meanwhile tonight’s Lotto jackpot is set to roll to an estimated €4 million.
