Lotto National Lottery numbers ready? Jackpot of £50 million will be the biggest ever

This Wednesday's Lotto jackpot stands at a record-breaking £50.4 million after nobody matched Saturday's six main main numbers.

National Lottery organisers, Camelot, has rolled over the jackpot for the seventh week since no one able to pull off a full sweep since mid-November.

A National Lottery spokeswoman said: "The largest Lotto jackpot the nation has ever seen is waiting to be won by someone in the UK.

"If a single ticketholder wins Wednesday's estimated £50.4m jackpot, they will be the biggest Lotto jackpot winner ever.”

The biggest lotto win to date is £22.5 million and was claimed by work colleagues, Mark Gardiner and Paul Maddison from Hastings, in 1995.

This Wednesday's jackpot is the result of new lottery rules introduced in October where the limit of four rollovers has been lifted.

Now, when the jackpot reaches or exceeds £50 million and no one gets all six numbers - the winnings are shared among those who get five numbers correct.

As the number of balls used in the lottery machine have been increased from 49 to 59 - the odds of getting six numbers correct have jumped from one in 14 million to one in 45 million.
