Ireland's luckiest shop owner was on Friday celebrating selling a second Lotto jackpot ticket in 10 month – and is hoping for a hat trick.
It comes after it emerged Wednesday’s €11.2million was won by a customer at the Texaco Service Station and Spar Express in Enniskerry, Co Wicklow.
Shop owner Ken O’Connor revealed another one of his businesses sold a €5.7million top prize last October and how he hopes his third store follows suit.
He told the Irish Mirror: “Just last year we sold another winning ticket worth €5.7million in Rathfarnham so this makes it two out of three shops that have won the big money.
“We’ve one more to go with the store in Foxrock to make it a clean sweep.
“We just can’t believe it. We heard the news yesterday that the winning ticket was sold in Wicklow but we had no idea it was us until Thursday night. It’s just fantastic. The shop is absolutely buzzing this morning and I am just thrilled for our customers and of course our staff.
“Whoever the winner is, we wish them every bit of luck enjoying this life-changing win.”
Store manager Radek Gawor added: “There was great excitement when I woke up this morning and heard the big news.
“Hopefully it’s one of the locals, or someone we know, we’re like one big family here in Enniskerry.”
Meanwhile, Lotto bosses revealed they have not heard from the lucky winner yet.
A spokeswoman said: “The National Lottery is still encouraging Lotto players in Wicklow and surrounding areas to check their tickets.”
The winning numbers in Wednesday’s draw were 10, 13, 23, 24, 25, 44 and the bonus number was 12.
