The National Lottery has confirmed that the winning ticket for the recent €6.4 million Lotto jackpot was sold in Athlone, Westmeath.
Elsewhere, the winning lotto Plus prize which saw the winner claim a sizeable €1m prize was won by a player in Castlebar. Mayo.
Bosses have confirmed that the winning €6,489,165 jackpot ticket from Saturday night’s draw was sold in the Midlands town of Athlone.
The lucky player from Westmeath has become became the third Lotto jackpot winner of 2021 after purchasing their Quick Pick ticket on Thursday, May 20.
Elsewhere, Castlebar is also home to a new millionaire after Saturday night’s Lotto draw also saw a second millionaire being crowned.
The lucky player from Mayo scooped the top prize of €1,000,000 in the Lotto Plus 1 draw and the winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on Friday, May 21.
In a statement released this afternoon, The National Lottery has said that they're still waiting to hear from both of the new millionaires.
The location of both of the winning stores will be announced on Tuesday morning.
A National Lottery spokesperson said: “Saturday night’s Lotto draw proved to be truly life-changing for two winners in Athlone and Castlebar who both became Ireland’s newest Lotto millionaires. We are encouraging all of our players in those areas to check their tickets carefully and to make contact with the prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or claims@lottery.ie so that arrangements can be made for both winners to collect their prizes.”
