There will be celebrations in the Rebel County this morning as Lotto bosses announced last night's €6.9m winning ticket was sold in Cork.
The lucky Cork punter scooped the monster jackpot while a Dublin winner bagged the Lotto Plus 2 top prize of €250,000.
The winning numbers in the main draw were 5, 8, 19, 40, 41, 44 and the bonus ball was 17.
And the numbers drawn in the Plus 2 game were 11, 15, 18, 30, 32 and 37, and the bonus number was 22.
Lotto bosses have yet to announce where the jackpot prize was sold in Cork but they revealed the Plus 2 top prize winner bought their Quick Pick ticket at Tesco Extra in the Millfield Shopping Centre in Balbriggan in North County Dublin.
Meanwhile, winners in Co. Louth and Co. Meath share the Lotto Match 5 + Bonus prize of €67,446, bagging a cool €33,723 each.
The winning Quick Pick tickets were sold at Lynch’s Foodstore in Tullyallen, Drogheda, Co. Louth and the Eurospar store in Dunboyne, Co. Meath.
A National Lottery spokesperson said it hopes to reveal the name and the location of the Cork store which sold the €6.9 million Lotto jackpot soon, saying: “With a jackpot win of this amount, it is important that we take some time to inform the winning retailer and of course to give the winning ticketholder the time and space they need to let this amazing win sink in so we will be announcing the winning store in the coming days.
"Last night’s draw produced an incredible 114,000 winners throughout the country including a lucky Dublin winner of the €250,000 Lotto Plus 2 top prize so we are encouraging everybody who played in Saturday’s Lotto game to check their tickets carefully.
