Lottie Woad Facts: 22 Things To Know About The English Pro Golfer

Lottie Woad is one of England's most promising players, with the former Florida State University golfer having recently turned pro off the back of a superb amateur career. Get to know the star golfer better with these facts about her life and impressive career so far.

1. Woad is from Farnham, Surrey in England and plays from Farnham Golf Club.

2. Her parents are called Rachel and Nick, and she has a younger sister called Milly who was the only golfer in the family to have had a hole-in-one, recorded aged 12. Lottie eventually caught up with her first ace during a college round in March 2025.

3. Woad received her first set of golf clubs from her grandfather at the age of three.

4. She also played soccer for Southampton FC's Centre of Excellence as a child.

5. Woad recorded A grades in every single one of her GCSEs in high school. She studied: English, Spanish, math, physics, chemistry, biology, geography, design and technology and physical education.

6. She won the Welsh Women's Open Stroke Play Championship and the prestigious Critchley Salver at Sunningdale Golf Club in 2021.

7. She won the 2022 Girls Amateur Championship at Carnoustie, triumphing 7&6 in the final versus Spain's Cayetana Fernandez Garcia-Poggio. The championship dates back to 1919 and has been claimed by Major champions like Suzann Pettersen, Anna Nordqvist and Georgia Hall in modern times.

8. She enrolled at Florida State University in 2022 and majored in Sports Management.

9. Her biggest amateur win came at the 2024 Augusta National Women's Amateur, where she birdied three of the final four holes to win by one.

10. In summer of 2024, Woad became the World No.1-ranked female amateur in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.

11. Woad was named the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Golfer of the Year after winning the 2023 ACC Freshman of the Year title.

12. She finished T23rd in her Major debut at the 2024 Chevron Championship.

13. Woad qualified for four of the five women's Majors in 2024.

14. She became the first English woman to win the Mark H. McCormack Medal as the leading amateur golfer in the world.

15. Woad was runner-up at the 2024 NCAA Division 1 Women's Golf Championship to Texas A&M's Adela Cernousek.

16. She plays Titleist equipment.

17. She qualified for the 2024 Great Britain and Ireland Curtis Cup team.

18. Woad finished T10th at the 2024 AIG Women's Open to win the Smyth Salver as low amateur.

19. In June 2025, Woad won the KPMG Women's Irish Open by an incredible six strokes to pick up her first professional tournament victory. The English talent shot 21-under for the week, sealing her place in the history books as the first amateur to win on the Ladies European Tour since 2022.

20. At the 2025 Evian Championship, Woad finished T3rd and missed out on a playoff by just one stroke. It was her only her seventh Major start and saw Woad scoop Low Amateur honors for the third time in her career.

21. Immediately after the Evian Championship, Woad turned professional and made her first start in the paid ranks at the ISPS Handa Women's Scottish Open alongside World No.1, Nelly Korda and England's Charley Hull.

22. Woad's Evian Championship finish earned her enough points on the LPGA Elite Amateur Pathway to secure full playing rights on the US tour. As a result of her Irish Open success, Woad already had an LET card waiting for her.
