Lottie Ryan says she hasn't seen her family since Christmas due to hectic Dancing With The Stars schedule

Lottie Ryan has revealed she hasn’t seen her family since Christmas due to her hectic Dancing With The Stars schedule.

The 2fm presenter, who has been consistently topping the leaderboard, said she is looking forward to reuniting with her loved ones after the show ends.

The Ryans will be celebrating her radio legend dad Gerry’s life coming up to the 10th anniversary of his death on April 30.

Lottie told the Irish Mirror: “The first half of my day is spent in 2fm. When I am finished work I drive to the dance studio and I am there until about 10.30pm.

“I am getting home at around 11pm and when my head hits the pillow I’m gone.

“Then we spend all weekend in Ardmore film factory – Saturdays we are camera blocking and checking the costumes and being spray tanned.

“Sunday is show day so there isn’t a lot of time for anything other than working on my performance and giving it my best.”

“If I’m being honest with you, I haven’t seen them [family] since Christmas properly.

“I knew before I got into this it was going to take over my life. I had a chat with my family to make sure everyone was OK with it.

“So yeah it is tough and it is definitely difficult but it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity so you just have to enjoy it.”

As RTE put in the final touches for a documentary looking back at Gerry’s life, Lottie – who is the eldest of the five Ryan children – said she is excited to relive some of his special moments.

She said: “I think 10 years sounds like such a long time.

“Every year is difficult and we are a tight-knit family so we will definitely do something together to mark it.”
