Lottie Ryan opens up about adjusting to motherhood as she enjoys first night out since giving birth

Lottie Ryan gushed she can’t remember life before being 'blessed' with her son as she enjoyed her first night out since giving birth.

The RTE 2FM radio presenter and her husband Fabio Aprile welcomed their first child, a boy named Wolf, prematurely at 33 weeks back in June.

Opening up about the experience, and how she has been coping with the tiredness since welcoming her first baby, she said she is learning to ‘be kind’ to herself as she adjusts to new life as a mum.

"The first few weeks are a big adjustment so you have to just take it one day at a time," she said in a Q and A on Instagram.

“The best advice I can give is to just be kind to yourself - something I'm still learning to do.”

Gushing about life with her new arrival, Lottie added: "We are absolutely loving it!

“We're on cloud 9 and feeling blessed.

"In a way it's hard to imagine we lived for so long without him! It's like he's always been here."

Arriving two months early, baby Wolf had to spend his first few weeks in the neonatal unit.

Asked how she felt during the worrying time, the former Dancing with the Stars champion credited the nurses and staff for making her feel so calm.

She said: "He arrived with a bang two months early.

"We were two and a half weeks in NICU and the team in there are just incredible.

"Honestly it all happened so quickly that I didn't really have time to feel or think.

"Thank God for the team at the Rotunda who kept me calm and made me feel so safe."

The Dubliner also lifted the lid on how her dog Boo is adjusting to the newest addition to the family, saying: "Boo is doing great! We made sure to bring home Wolf's dirty clothes every day from the hospital and give them to her to smell.

"Then, when he eventually got home she recognised his scent immediately. Dogs are amazing."

It comes as Lottie revealed that she headed out for her ‘first night out in god knows how long’ on Monday, to support her brother Rex Ryan on his new business venture.

She joined her sister Bonnie at the debut of their acting brother’s performance of ‘One Hour to Ron Montana’ at the new Glass Mask Theatre.
