Lottery winner has days to claim £58million EuroMillions jackpot - or lose it forever

Lottery players are being urged to check their pockets and drawers after it was revealed a massive jackpot still remains unclaimed.

And the winner will need to be quick as they have a matter of days to claim it or lose it for good.

The Euromillions ticker was bought back in March just before lockdown but has yet to be successfully claimed.

An attempt to claim the prize was rejected without explanation, meaning the winnings are still up for grabs by the lucky ticket holder.

The winner scooped the jackpot of £57,869,670 on March 17, and within the rules of the draw, they have 180 days from this date to stake a claim on the prize.

Meaning they have until September 13 to get their hands on the life-changing sum, or lose it forever.

How to increase your chances of winning the EuroMillions

The winning numbers that night were 5, 7, 8, 16, 20 with Lucky Stars 2 and 12.

The windfall would make the ticket holder richer than One Direction star Harry Styles and street artist Banksy.

If no one comes forward, the prize and any interest earned will be put into National Lottery Projects across the UK.

It's not the only prize that is due to expire in the next couple of weeks.

Another Euromillions ticket worth £1,000,000 remains unclaimed.  The winning code MGKX92653 was selected during the draw on March 20, with the last date to claim the money coming up on September 16.

The highest ever unclaimed jackpot was £63.8m won in 2012 by a ticket holder from the Stevenage and Hitchin area of Herts.
