Lothians confirmed cases of coronavirus jumps by 42 as Scotland's total soars over 2,300

There are 42 new confirmed cases of coronavirus in the Lothians area since Tuesday as the total rises to 311, according to the latest Scottish Government figures.

There are also 632 cases of coronavirus in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, 254 in Tayside and 96 in  Fife.

The Scottish Government has also confirmed that 16 more people have died from coronavirus, as the death toll rises to 76.

2,310 patients in total have now tested positive for coronavirus in Scotland, with the number of confirmed cases jumped by over 300 in the last 24 hours.

The number of people in critical care has also doubled in the last 24 hours, with 147 people receiving critical care.
