Lothian Buses will parade dozens of their classic vehicles in Edinburgh to mark centenary year

Lothian Buses will parade dozens of their classic vehicles through Edinburgh later this month as part of their centenary celebrations.

People are being given a special chance to take a look at 25 of the buses to have served the streets of the Scottish capital down the years when the Centenary Cavalcade takes place on Sunday, 28 July.

The parade will start at 10am in West End before heading through the city centre. In all, the route will run from Wester Coates to Regent Road, via Haymarket and Princes Street.

The vehicles, which were all used at some point through Lothian Buses' 100 year history, will then be on display at the east end of George Street, between Hanover Street and St Andrew Square. This display will run from 11am to 2pm.

People will also be allowed to take a look inside the buses during the display.

Lothian Buses say people are invited to "come along to this unique opportunity to take a trip through our history and see how many of the different bus styles and designs you remember".
