Lothian buses suspend a number of Edinburgh routes until further notice

Lothian buses have suspended a number of Edinburgh routes from 7pm tonight after locals reported anti-social behaviour.

In an update to customers, Lothian Buses said that buses will not serve Clermiston Road, Drumbrae Drive and Drumbrae South.

One local told Edinburgh Live that it was understood locally that it followed a number of anti-social incidents involving buses.

Speaking anonymously, the woman, who lives near Drumbrae Park, said young people in the area had been "targeting" buses in anti-social attacks.

"I'm not surprised they've had to do this because theres a small group causing chaos, but I feel sorry for people relying on public transport."

Lothian Buses has been contacted for comment.

In a message on their website, the operator said: "Due to an ongoing incident buses will not serve Clermiston Road, Drumbrae Drive and Drumbrae South and are instead diverted via Queensferry Road, Maybury Road and Glasgow Road in both directions until further notice."

The routes affected include 1, 21, 200 and 26.

It is unknown at this time when services will restart.
