Lothian Buses change services so they can take Edinburgh residents to vaccine appointments

Lothian Buses have added additional transport links to Edinburgh's mass vaccination hub at the Royal Highland Centre.

Those at the transport operator say three services will be re-routed to provide "vital links" to the centre, and this will help thousands of people as they make their journey to get the jag.

From Sunday Skylink services 200, 300 and 400 will change so they visit at the venue en route to Edinburgh Airport.

Lothian Buses say their vehicles will stop at the Ingliston Road stop each day between 7.45am and 9pm.

In addition, Lothian Country announced that their 275 service would be re-routed to serve the mass vaccine centre at Pyramids Business Park in Bathgate.

Nigel Serafini, Interim Managing Director at Lothian Buses, said: "We are delighted to be able to support NHS Lothian with the rollout of the Covid-19 Vaccination programme by making it as easy as possible for residents across Edinburgh and the Lothians to travel to their appointments, as well as offering vital transport links for those keyworkers and volunteers helping within the centre.

“Our teams have worked hard over the last 12 months to ensure our buses are clean, safe and accessible for those that require to make essential journeys.”

A new webpage dedicated to planning journeys to vaccine centres has been created by Lothian Buses. Further information on this can be found on their website.

Lothian announced a host of timetable changes last month with services 3, 37, 47B and 15 altered.
