Lost South Dublin dog makes his own way to garda station to file missing human report

A South Dublin dog had the wit to bring himself to gardai after getting separated from his owner.

Lost dogs have been making a lot of waves in news lately, as we've seen two Irish Rail pups , and a new recruit in Pearse in recent weeks.

Now it looks as another cute ball of fluff wants in on the act.

After getting lost in Dundrum, this smart young fella made his way to his local station to "report his owner missing" with gardai now appealing for them to come forward.

Adventurous dog who travelled by train from Kildare to Dublin reunited with owner

They said: "This lovely young pup just presented himself at the counter of Dundrum Garda Station to report his owner missing!!

"Can anyone help him?

"Any info to Dundrum GS 01-6665600"

Of course, if he doesn't get home he can always stick on a vest and do a few shifts like Pluto here.

Adorable pooch Pluto gets put to work by Pearse Street garda after being found celebrating Leinster win in Dublin 2

The lovable mut was found by Pearse St gardai while he was out celebrating Leinster's Champions Cup win on Saturday.

While waiting for his human to come back, he nobly volunteered to get out on the beat and deal with some of the Easter trouble makers.

Sharing an adorable picture of Pluto with his garda uniform, gardai confirmed that he has been safely returned to his owner - though no word on if he's taken up the position at Pearse Street station permanently!

They said: "Pluto was returned to his owner by Unit A, Pearse Street after being found in the Dublin 2 area celebrating Leinster's win... but not before being put to work in the station!"
