'Lost Hazard, joins Juventus, gets de Ligt' - Chelsea fans cannot believe Maurizio Sarri's luck

Reports were circulating on Saturday morning that Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt could be on his way to Italy to link up with Serie A Champions Juventus.

According to Sky Sports , the teenager has decided to make the move to Turin after competition for his signature reached boiling point. Manchester United, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain were all said to be among the parties interested in bringing him to their club during the summer.

De Ligt played a crucial part in Ajax's success last season, captaining the club to the Eredivsie title and a Champions League semi-final against Tottenham where he scored in the second leg.

A Lucas Moura hat trick put the defender's hopes of captaining his team in a Champions League final out of reach, but it seems that the 19-year-old is destined to go onto bigger and better things.

Juventus has aspirations of lifting the famous European trophy, and have bought in players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Douglas Costa in order to make that dream a reality.

But it's not just Ronaldo and Costa who de Ligt would be joining should he make the move to Turin.

Former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri was confirmed as the Juventus manager almost a week ago, after a compensation deal was agreed between the Blues and the Italian club.

Sarri spent just one year in charge at Stamford Bridge, but led the club to a third place Premier League finish, a Europa League win and a League Cup final appearance. He did however have a fractious relationship with fans, and the hope that 'Sarri-ball' would be winging it's way to South-West London never really materialised.

The Italian manager will hope that it will be a different story at his new club, and football fans are seeing the probable signing of de Ligt as the first step in the right direction.
