March 01--It's championship week in high school basketball, and the Southern Section is feeling pretty good about its lineup for Saturday at Honda Center that will feature the Open Division boys' final between the nation's No. 1-ranked team, Chino Hills (30-0), and Chatsworth Sierra Canyon (26-3) at 6:30 p.m.

There will be six championship games at Honda Center. Tickets are $18 for general admission, $10 for students with identification and $10 for children. Parking is $16. The Open Division final will be televised by FS West.

Chino Hills has been selling out one venue after another this season. The team has scored 100 points or more 16 times, two short of the state record.

"You go into it knowing, so far, 30 other teams haven't figured it out," Sierra Canyon Coach Ty Nichols said.

Other finals at Honda Center: 1A, Temecula Valley vs. Santa Monica, 10 a.m.; 2A, Lynwood vs. Santa Barbara, noon; 1AA, Long Beach Poly vs. Riverside JW North, 2 p.m.; 3AA, La Verne Bonita vs. Oak Park, 4 p.m.; 2AA, Huntington Beach Edison vs. Chino Hills Ayala, 8:30 p.m

There will be six girls' championship games Saturday at Azusa Pacific, highlighted by the Open Division final between Long Beach Poly and West Hills Chaminade at 7:30 p.m.

The City Section will hold boys' and girls' championship games Saturday at Cal State Dominguez Hills. Westchester will play Harbor City Narbonne in the Open Division boys' final at 8 p.m. with the girls' final between Palisades and El Camino Real at 6 p.m. Tickets are $12 general admission and $8 for students with ID. Parking is $6.

Southern Section soccer finals will be held Friday and Saturday at Downey Warren and Corona, with the City Section on Saturday at Valley College.
