Trailer tips over and spills thousands of Brussels sprouts onto the road in Fife

Thousands of Brussels sprouts have spilled onto the road in Rosyth, Fife following a bizarre crash.

A trailer tipped onto its side at the roundabout on Admiralty Road, tipping its load onto the carriageway and pavement.

The crash happened on Monday morning.

Police have advised drivers to avoid the area, but saw the funny side of the vegetable avalanche.

The South West Fife division tweeted: "There’s been a bit of a #Brusselssprouts accident at the roundabout at Admiralty Road, Rosyth. Please avoid the area if possible.

"Traffic and Christmas dinners may be affected. Apologies for any delays..."

Another person chipped in, asking: "Was the lorry sprout of control at the time?"

No-one was seriously hurt in the incident and emergency services are clearing up the mess.
