Lorry sheds load causing travel chaos closing major road through Grangemouth

A lorry shed its loads causing travel chaos on a busy road through Grangemouth and forcing it to be closed.

Hundreds of wooden beams fell off the back of a HGV on Beancross Road, near Cadgers Brae Roundabout.

Emergency services were called to the A905 shortly after 2:30pm today following reports if debris scattered over the carriageway.

Reports on social media suggest around 20 people rushed to clear the road, which remains shut.

Pictures show another lorry, with a crane attached, loading the wood on to the back.

Nobody was injured in the incident and the road re-opened at 6:15pm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.25pm on Monday, 14 March, police were called to the A905 near Cadgers Roundabout in Grangemouth, following a report of debris falling from a lorry.

"The road was closed whilst the debris was cleared."
