Lorry ploughed through a wall at new £6 million crematorium

The wall of the newly opened £6 million crematorium in Bannockburn was partially destroyed after a lorry ploughed through it last week.

The perimeter wall of Stirlingshire Crematorium, on the A9 at Falkirk Road, was flattened when the HGV slammed through it at around 6am on Thursday, January 23.

Police attended the scene and were forced to close the road to clear debris. Traffic faced long tailbacks before the route was finally reopened at around 8.50am.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

There were two funeral services scheduled for Thursday at the state-of-the art facility, none of which were affected by the accident.

Stirlingshire Crematorium hosted its first funeral there last June.
