Lorry overturns after crashing with car on Scots road as driver taken to hospital

A lorry driver is in hospital after their vehicle overturned after an accident on a busy Scots road.

The crash, which also involved a car, happened at the Kennedy's Pass area of the A77 between Girvan and Ballantrae in South Ayrshire.

Emergency services rushed to the scene shortly after 11.05am on Monday, December 13, according to Police Scotland.

An eyewitness said four fire engines with a major incident unit, an ambulance and five traffic cars were all in attendance.

The male driver of the lorry was taken to hospital for treatment and recovery has been arranged for the vehicles.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a crash involving a car and a lorry on the A77 between Girvan and Ballantrae shortly after 11.05am on Monday, 13 December.

"The male driver of the lorry was to be taken to hospital and recovery has been arranged for the vehicles."
