'Lorry full of potatoes' crashes into bridge and blocks Scots road

Scots cops are currently dealing with a lorry full of potatoes which crashed into a bridge.

The HGV collided with the Railway Bridge on Hope Street in Inverkeithing, Fife, at around 4pm on Wednesday, December 15.

Police Scotland's Fife Road Policing division confirmed that they are currently at the scene on Twitter.

They wrote: "Fife Road Policing are currently dealing with a HGV full of potatoes that has crashed into the Railway Bridge on Hope Street, Inverkeithing.

"The road will remain closed until the vehicle is recovered and we complete out enquiries. Thankfully no injuries. #SmashedNotMashed"

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: "We were made aware of a jack-knifed lorry at Glebe Terrace in Inverkeithing around 4pm on Wednesday, 15 December.

"Nobody has been injured and the road is currently blocked."
