A LORRY fire has broken out on a busy road in Perthshire, with drivers being urged to avoid the area.
Emergency services were alerted to the blaze on the A85 near the junction with the A827, Mid Lix, at around 12:05pm on Sunday.
Police confirmed the road has been closed in both directions, with officers urging drivers to avoid the area.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “The A85 near to the junction with the A827, Mid Lix, is currently closed in both directions following a report of a vehicle fire around 12.05pm on Sunday, June 8, 2025.
“Emergency services are in attendance, and drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible at this time.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 12.07pm to a fire on the A85.
“We have appliances in attendance, one mile south of Lix Toll. The lorry is on fire but we are currently working to put it out.
“There are no injuries.”
The A85 is a major road that runs from east of Oban to Perth.
