Lorry driver taken to hospital after crash brings down telegraph pole

Emergency services were called to Sneinton after a lorry crashed into a telegraph pole.

The incident happened at 7.40am on Monday, March 30 in Daleside Road.

Firefighters from London Road station were called to the scene assisted by East Midlands Ambulance Service and Nottinghamshire Police.

The lorry driver was hurt and has been taken to hospital. His injuries are not yet known.

A spokesman for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 7.40am, London Road Station attended a road traffic collision involving a lorry in collision with a telegraph pole on Daleside Road in Sneinton.

"Firefighters made the scene safe and assisted EMAS with one male casualty struck by the pole.

"Casualty conveyed to hospital by and the scene left with Nottinghamshire Police."
