A lorry driver has been rushed to hospital after a horror collision with another lorry in Dunfermline.

The two vehicles collided on Sandpiper Drive in the town during an icy rush hour this morning (Wednesday).

Emergency services raced to the scene near the Amazon depot before one of the drivers was rushed to hospital.

A horrifying picture from the scene shows the front of one lorry completely crushed.

A local source said: "One lorry smashed into the back of another lorry which is blocking one lane off. One cab is totally smashed."

Another said: "It looked terrible but police and ambulance are on the scene and the driver is conscious and looking relatively unhurt."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers attended a crash involving two lorries on Sandpiper Drive, Dunfermline, on Wednesday, 30 December, 2020, around 9.50am.

"One of the drivers has been taken to hospital."
