Lorry driver found dead inside his vehicle in Highlands car park

A lorry driver has been found dead inside his vehicle in a Highland car park.

Emergency services raced to the Riverside Car Park in Thurso after the alarm was raised at around 8.30am on Thursday, September 9.

Ambulance crews attended, but the 55-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His death has been described as "sudden".

There are no suspicious circumstances and police say a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers attended the Riverside Car Park in Thurso following the sudden death of a 55-year-old man within a vehicle parked in the area.

"The incident was reported to police around 8.50am on Thursday, September 9.

"There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
