Lorry driver arrested in connection with M90 crash that left woman injured

A lorry driver has been arrested in connection with an M90 crash which left a woman injured.

It comes after two cars crashed this morning at around 8.10am near the Bridge of Earn at at junction 9.

Police raced to the scene and discovered the woman driver suffered minor injuries.

The male lory driver has been charged in connection with road traffic offences.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

The incident resulted in heavy traffic but has since been cleared.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.10am on Monday, 17 May, 2021, we received report of a two vehicle road crash, involving a car and a lorry, on the M90 northbound at junction 9, Bridge of Earn.

"The female driver of the car sustained minor injuries and the male driver of the lorry has been charged in connection with road traffic offences and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”

Traffic Scotland said: "There has been a road traffic crash on the M90 northbound prior to junction 9 Bridge of Earn.

Lane 1 of 2 is blocked and police have arrived on scene.

"Traffic queuing heavily on approach back to Glenfarg."
