Lorry driver arrested after 14 men found in back of vehicle near Rugby with some needing medical attention

A man has been arrested near Rugby, Warwickshire, after 14 men were discovered in the back of a lorry.

Warwickshire Police said the driver of the vehicle was detained at Mangrove Service Station on the A45 between Rugby and Coventry on suspicion of people trafficking.

Some of the men discovered in the lorry required medical attention and four were taken to hospital. None at though to be in a life-threatening condition and the remaining ten have been taken into custody.

Police officers have informed the UK Border Agency and are appealing for the public to contact them with any information about the men. 

The lorry was describing as being from "overseas".

The A45 remains closed Westbound between the M45 and the A4071 while officers continue to deal with the incident.
