Lorry bursts into flames on A751 as cops and fire crews race to scene

A major road in Scotland has been closed this morning after a lorry caught fire.

Officers from Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to the A751 near Stranrae r just before 8.30am this morning, January 26.

It is understood a blazing trailer was dropped by a tractor unit.

The main thoroughfare has been blocked in both directions as the fire crews bring the incident under control.

It is understood that two pumps attended from the Stranraer Community Fire Station.

The tractor unit was described by an onlooker as ‘well ablaze’ on their arrival.

A spokesman for Police Scotland confirmed officers were helping with traffic management in the area.
