Lorry and van collide on busy Scots road as drivers warned to avoid route

A lorry and van have collided sparking travel chaos on the A90 as drivers are urged to avoid the route.

Emergency services were called to the scene of a two-vehicle smash near Foveran at around 1:30pm on Monday, November 15.

Police Scotland 's North East Division warned drivers to avoid the area earlier this afternoon.

Taking to social media, officers said: "The A90 is currently closed SOUTHBOUND near to Balmedie due to a road traffic collision.

"Please avoid the area meantime."

It's not yet known if anyone has been injured in the smash.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1:30pm on Monday, 15 November, officers were called to a report of a road crash involving a lorry and a van on the A90 at Foveran. Emergency services are at the scene."

It comes after an earlier crash on the A90 near Fraserburgh.

The road is also closed at Kirktown Brae after a bus and a van collided at around 12pm.
