Lorraine lets slip swear word live on air - and brands coronavirus 'karma'

ITV presenter Lorraine Kelly let slip a swear word during her show on ITV1 this morning - and she also branded coronavirus 'karma'.

The Scottish host dropped the swear word during a rant about the new lockdown in England.

She also called Covid-19 'karma' for keeping animals in terrible conditions.

Speaking to health expert Dr Hilary Jones, Lorraine said: "We will keep our fingers crossed and hope that everybody obeys, but it kinds of seems a bit half-a***d, if we are allowed to say that."

Hilary replied: "Absolutely, you've got most people being compliant, being sensible, and you've got a small proportion who just don't seem to care and are not obeying the rules that they should be following."

"This is very worrying, we believe that there has been a mutation of the virus in these poor wee animals," she added

Dr Hilary replied: "We know that coronavirus has different gemones, if you look at the genetic it would be slightly different in different parts of the world.

"The one they have found in mink is more resistant to antibodies and more resistant to the effects of a vaccine.

"That's why the government has reacted very quickly in saying no lorry drivers coming in from Denmark, they will be turned away at the ports.

"Air crew coming in from Denmark have to self-isolate across the border with their families.

"They don't want those strain to become prevalent in this country, as it might do otherwise, and we would be back to square one."

Lorraine then added: "Don't you think if you keep animals like that in those kinds of conditions, something is going to come and bite you back.

"It's karma, it's desperate.

"You reap what you sow."

Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV at 9am.
