Lorraine Kelly voices concerns about Boris Johnson's appearance after his Downing Street speech

Lorraine Kelly has raised concerns about Boris Johnson after his speech from Downing Street on Monday morning.

After being struck down by coronavirus himself, the Prime Minister marked his return to duties with a powerful address to the nation from the steps of number 10, where he spoke about the UK "coming to end" of the first phase of coronavirus and thanking the large portion of the public who have stuck to the rules during lockdown.

He also addressed his own battle with COVID-19 which left him at death's door, saying it was like 'being mugged by an invisible assailant.'

But appearing on Good Morning Britain minutes later, Lorraine said: "He still looked a bit peaky. He didn't look in the best of health but clearly he was able to talk."

Sitting next to her, Doctor Hilary Jones muttered: "yes, I agree."

One of the subjects raised in Boris Johnson's speech was lockdown being lifted, something Dr Hilary himself had talked about earlier on on Monday's GMB, with the show's resident health expert saying: "This virus behaves in ways we don't fully understand at all, there's a lot of ignorance about this virus.

"It affects all age groups for a long time when they get it severely and that's why we can't even think about end of lockdown yet. If we allow a second peak, it's going to cause a lot more deaths."
