Lorraine Kelly tells David Walliams to 'watch the cameras' as he crawls off show

Lorraine Kelly had viewers in stitches after telling off David Walliams when he crawled off stage during a chat about his latest book.

The Britain's Got Talent judge appeared on the ITV show to talk about his new children's book Spaceboy, before the interview took a turn and he crawled off stage on his hands and knees. David's latest book is about a space-obsessed child who goes on a big adventure after finding a crashed UFO.

The 51-year-old also spoke to the Scottish broadcaster about working alongside Simon Cowell on the BGT judging panel, and admitted he enjoys making Simon's "life a misery" as he poked fun at the straight-talking record executive.

Following their interview, Lorraine thanked David for joining her on her ITV programme. However, David quipped: "I've been told I have to creep off now because you've got something else happening. So I am going to go and do that discreetly," he added as he got onto his hands and knees to crawl off the set.

Lorraine started laughing and exclaimed: "You don't need to do that," as the comedian continued to crawl across the floor as Lorraine watched on in shock from her seat.

"I don't want to get in the way," he quipped. "I know you have someone else coming on, don't worry."

Lorraine watched on as he shuffled towards the cameras and warned him not to hurt himself. "Watch you don't bang into [the cameras], health and safety," Lorraine called out across the room.

As David finally snuck off set, Lorraine remained professional and shared with viewers what was in store for the rest of the instalment. Elsewhere in the interview, David revealed he and Sheridan Smith have a pact to get married if they run out of other options.

The pair have teamed up to film Gangsta Granny Strikes Again, where they play husband and wife.

David laughed: "We have a lot of fun together actually. We talk about getting married when we are older when we have exhausted all other opportunities."

The comedian married model Lara Stone in 2010 but they went their separate ways in 2015. They have a son called Alfred together who is now nine years old.

Lorraine airs on weekdays from 9am on ITV.
