Lorraine Kelly targets celebrities who broke lockdown rules in Queen’s speech parody: ‘You can go f*** yourself’

Lorraine Kelly has castigated celebrities who broke lockdown rules in a parody of the Queen’s Christmas speech.

During an appearance on comedy show The Last Leg, the ITV presenter did a mock-up of the Queen’s speech, saying: “To all of us who sacrificed so much this year, I wish you a very merry Christmas and a prosperous 2021. Unless, of course, you are a celebrity who broke the rules of lockdown. In that case, you can go f*** yourself.”

The sketch comes after Sky broadcaster Kay Burley admitted she broke the rules last weekend when celebrating her 60th birthday with a group of friends. The journalist made a public apology and said she would be “stepping back” from Sky News for a period of reflection.

Rita Ora also recently made headlines for breaking the rules. She threw a private 30th birthday party at a restaurant in London’s Notting Hill during lockdown.

In an Instagram Story, the singer said she was “embarrassed" about her actions.

“I’m deeply sorry for breaking the rules and in turn understand that this puts people at risk,” she said.

“This was a serious and inexcusable error of judgement. Given the restrictions, I realise how irresponsible these actions were and I take full responsibility.”
