Lorraine Kelly shocked viewers after advising UK Eurovision singer James Newman to 'go and get pished' live on TV.
James, who represented the UK in the international contest failed to rank during the show.
Lorraine was branded 'two faced' by viewers after she gushed over James in an interview this morning - days after calling his performance "rubbish".
She told James he "sang his heart out and gave it his all", added: "‘I’m glad you’re smiling, that was tough, you went on there, you sang your heart out and then the Rotters - that’s me being polite - the Rotters, we got nothing! Nothing at all!"
After James told her he'd tried his hardest and that he was really happy with the song, Lorraine asked him what he had done after the event.
She asked: "Was there a massive party afterwards or could you not do that because of Covid rules?"

James told her: "The restrictions there. there were loads. You couldn't like really leave the hotel.
"You couldn't mix with anyone. We got tested every day. We had to keep our distance, where masks and stuff, so we were in a bubble with our team."
"Me and my team had loads of drinks and I had drinks in the arena obviously."
Lorraine said: "That's the man. I did put that on Twitter.

"I said: "'Right James. Thank you for everything that you have done 'now go and get pished' I said, so I'm so glad that you did, because why wouldn't you, why wouldn't you?"
During the chat James admitted he loved the support he got from the Eurovision crowd.
He said: 'But the best thing for me was how the crowd just went absolutely crazy when they said ‘nil points’ but the audience was cheering me, everyone was cheering me
"I was trying to just visualise winning so that I could put a positive vibe on it all. You just can’t tell.
"Writing songs and singing to people, you can’t guarantee it’s going to connect with an audience. I think, for me, I just wanted to go and try my best and we definitely did.
"My whole team was so amazing. It was such a great time. I wouldn’t change it for the world."

Viewers questioned Lorraine for using inappropriate language and for being a hypocrite.
One said: "Gotta love Lorraine: “I put that on Twitter, ‘Now go & get pished”, I said” (speaking to James Newman about Eurovision) Hope she doesn’t get into trouble. Wonder if she’ll apologise. Subtitles changed it to ‘drunk’."
Another said: "Did Lorraine Kelly literally just say “go and get pished” on morning tv???"
Someone else pointed out: " @lorraine interviewing @JamesNewmanUk #Eurovision but on Monday she said "It wasn't the best song". Today she tells James "people love the song & it's a very successful" "I hope more people download on iTunes song' Need I say more? "
And a fourth added: "Just listened to #Lorraine gushing away to James Newman, after saying his song wasn't very good the other day. So two faced."
