Lorraine Kelly has shared a positive update following surgery to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes.
The ITV presenter first revealed news of the procedure in a video from her hospital bed over the weekend.
The 65-year-old reassured fans that she was in good hands and that the procedure was done for “purely preventative” reasons.
Over the weekend, she told fans: “Just wanted to let you know I'm having a wee procedure today. I've not been feeling all that well for a little while, so I had some scans and tests, and I have to have my ovaries and my tubes taken out.
“It's purely preventative. It's going to be with keyhole surgery, which is incredible. I'm being very well looked after, and I'll obviously see you really soon, and I'm gonna be totally fine.”
Now, the presenter has shared some encouraging news with her followers as she returned to social media to thank fans for their support.
She wrote on Instagram on Wednesday: “Thanx for all your lovely messages I'm recovering well.
“So proud of my top team – punching above our weight and bucking the trend. Just heard our ratings are up – we had the highest March for four years. Thanks @vixkennedy and the gang! Always know how to cheer me up”.
Kelly previously posted a photo from Heatherwood Hospital, where she had the operation, posing with medical staff and wearing a T-shirt in tribute to her late friend, campaigner Dame Deborah James.
“Huge thanks to these kind, caring, gorgeous professionals who took care of me at @heatherwoodhospital – back home now and following doctors’ orders to rest up,” she wrote.
“My surgeon Mr Ahmed Rafaat has been so reassuring throughout – and I can’t thank the whole team enough!”
The operation, known medically as a laparoscopic bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, is often done to reduce the risk of ovarian cancer.
The broadcaster was soon flooded with support, with Emma Willis writing: “Lots of love Lorraine” while Christine Lampard commenting a string of heart emojis.
Strictly's Amy Dowden wrote: “Sending lots of love” while Gaby Roslin commented: “Get well soon my darling. Big love”.
