Lorraine Kelly sends loving message to comedian Janey Godley ahead of hysterectomy

Lorraine Kelly has wished her good friend, Janey Godley, 60, the best of luck as she prepares to undergo a hysterectomy this week.

The 62-year-old TV presenter shared some loving words about much-loved comedian Janey after she revealed her ovarian cancer diagnosis back in November.

Since was she dealt with the life-changing diagnosis, Janey has been keeping her social media followers up-to-date on her health, and on Tuesday, the star shared a brave snap of herself while she was packing away her essentials before going into hospital to undergo the surgery to remove her tumour.

Alongside a beautiful photo of the Scottish comedian smiling, she penned: "Today is all about getting packed up for hospital.

“Surgery on Thursday morning, then focusing on recovery and whatever comes next.”

Following her inspiring post, Janey was inundated with support from her loving followers - and TV star Lorraine was one of the first to wish her friend well.

"Good luck @JaneyGodley," Lorraine penned alongside a string of kisses.

Back in November, Janey shared her life-changing news on social media as she tweeted a picture of herself in a hospital bed.

At the time, the comedian penned: “Sorry but my last weekend of the tour can’t go ahead in Edinburgh and Musselburgh as I am in hospital with ovarian cancer – look after each other. #MentalHealthMatters."

Below the post, several fans sent kind messages to Jane.

One penned: "Oh Janey, hope it was cought early! Stay positive, looking forward to seeing you on the stage in not too distant future."

A second added: "Oh Janey I am so sorry. That’s absolutely awful. I am hoping you receive terrific care and recover well. You are such a ray of sunshine, no-one can make me spit out my coffee like you. I will be thinking of you and hoping good things happen."

While more sent: "More sent: "So sorry to hear this news Janey. Sending all my love and good wishes to you" and "Much love to you and I hope you can beat it! You are a strong and beautiful woman, you got this."

The comedian found viral fame with her dubbed pastiches of Scotland First Minister Nicola Sturgeon’s coronavirus news briefings during the pandemic.
