Lorraine Kelly's daughter Rosie says boys at her school fancied her mum

Lorraine Kelly's daughter has opened up about growing up with a famous mum who was on TV all the time.

Rosie Smith, who Lorraine shares with her husband of 29-years Steve Smith, has revealed that when she was growing up, the boys at her school fancied her mum.

The 27-year-old said that her male friends made no secret of the fact that they had crushes on Lorraine, but Rosie decided to take it as a compliment.

She explained that she was never embarrassed by Lorraine's high profile, as she never did anything to embarrass herself.

In a joint interview with her mum, Rosie told the Sunday Times Magazine: "Fortunately, her fame has never been awkward for me.

"She's not gone on reality TV, never made an a**e out of herself.

"Of course, some guys at my school did fancy her, and they were very clear about it, but I just took it as a compliment."

Lorraine laughed, saying: "You know how to make a 61-year-old happy!"

Rosie is starring in the current series of Celebrity Gogglebox with her mum.

Lorraine has spent much of Rosie's life travelling back and forth between London and Dundee for work.

According to the TV star, it was Rosie's dad Steve who was always the one telling her to "eat your broccoli, do your homework".

She said: "He was the bad cop. I was the one who would let her sit and watch the rubbish on the telly.

"I wouldn't be very good at doing discipline anyway."

Rosie added: "Dad was always the one who gave me a telling-off!"

Lorraine met her future husband while he was working as a cameraman on TV-am and was instantly attracted to him.

Speaking to Woman and Home, Lorraine said: "He walked into the TV-am office 28 years ago where I was working as a reporter and he was part of the crew, and I thought, 'That'll do, I'm having that.'

"We were friends for a good year, then it all happened rather quickly when we had to do a shoot on location at Glencoe.

"We were staying in a tiny hotel in the middle of nowhere and I got him incredibly drunk on tequila before making my move.

"The way I remember it is that I leapt on him like a ninja and he had absolutely no defence!"

In 1994 the couple became parents to Rosie, who is their only child.
