Lorraine Kelly's Boob Bus visits Glasgow as part of campaign aimed at reminding locals to get their breasts checked

Toryglen residents were encouraged to have a health check while doing their shopping last week, when TV star Lorraine Kelly’s Boob Bus rolled up at Asda.

The aim of the visit was to ensure customers realise how important it is that woman and men breast check regularly, and was tied in with the Tickled Pink campaign run by the retail chain.

The Boob Bus is travelling around the country and was the brainchild of the Lorraine show producer Helen Addis, who was diagnosed with the disease aged just 39.

Also on board for the visit was Dr Hilary Jones , the morning show’s resident GP.

Liz Arbuckle, Asda Toryglen community champion said: “It’s so important that woman and men are breast-checking regularly and that’s something we’re strongly promoting instore across October as part of our Tickled Pink campaign.

“The pink Boob Bus is touring the UK promoting the daytime TV show’s lifesaving Change and Check campaign and we’re really proud to host it at our store, where our customers and colleagues will be able to get any information they need.”

The Boob Bus is part of Lorraine Kelly’s Change + Check breast cancer awareness campaign.

The initiative is already saving lives, and the Boob Bus aims to spread that message even further to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness month this October.

After being waved off by Lorraine Kelly on Tuesday morning, the bright pink bus has travelled to the likes of London, Manchester, Belfast and Cardiff, as well as Toryglen.

Lorraine added: “Helen’s a force of nature and the Boob Bus is an extension of her campaign. It’s making women, and men, focus on their health. So check your boobs!

“What’s normal for one person might not be normal for another. But check yourself and together we could save even more lives.”

Last Thursday, TV viewers were able to spot the supermarket on the show as well.
