Lorraine Kelly reveals bizarre Craig David 'feet washing' anecdote as she celebrates 60th birthday

Lorraine Kelly has revealed that Craig David once washed her feet when they were on a gruelling charity trek.

The unlikely tale came to light on Friday morning as the star, who is turning 60 on Saturday, celebrated with a special edition of her morning chat show.

The singer was part of a group of celebrities who visited the studio to pay tribute to the TV presenter, and opened up about his friendship with Kelly.

After gifting Kelly with flowers, chocolates and a candle, David spoke about the time the pair had undertaken a charity trek together for Comic Relief in 2011.

She revealed she was really struggling on the trek and "couldn't really eat" due to her mouth being "covered in ulcers".

Kelly then added that the 7 Days singer “washed my feet, bandaged them up and made me a cup of tea. He really is the nicest man.”

She said: "I was really suffering really badly.

"Craig saw I was struggling and picked me up and put me down under some scrubland."

She continued: "He then washed my feet and bandaged them up."

Craig responded: "I could tell you needed some TLC."

"You were amazing," the Fill Me In hitmaker said kindly.

He continued: "Every time I've met you, you have this consistency of uplifting people, which is just amazing."

Ben Shephard, who was hosting for the day, then joked: "We're going to go to a commercial break while these two canoodle."

The joyful segment comes after ITV recently confirmed that Good Morning Britain is due to get an extended time slot in the new year, adding half an hour in an overhaul of the broadcaster's morning schedule.

From January 6 2020, Good Morning Britain will be extended by half an hour to run from 6am until 9am.

Lorraine will move to 9am, and will be followed by This Morning at 10am, which has also been extended by 30 minutes.

Loose Women will still air at 12.30pm, ending at 1.30pm.
