Lorraine Kelly rages at politician in breathtaking rant over Christmas lockdown

Lorraine Kelly raged at politicians for prioritising 'being liked' over 'saving lives' in a blistering rant.

Defence Secretary Ben Wallace told ITV's Good Morning Britain he did not want to be "the Grinch that stole Christmas " but he wanted to "protect lives".

He said: "Come December 2 the decisions will be made that we will try and get that balance right, but ultimately we will try and make sure we protect our NHS and safeguard lives.

"I don't want to be the Grinch that stole Christmas - I'm not campaigning for that. I would love all of us to be able to have a Christmas, but more than anything I want us to get through this Covid and try and get this country back to normal and I want to protect lives."

Following the interview, Ben Shephard asked Lorraine for her opinion on the matter.

However, Lorraine was less than impressed with the defence secretary saying: "I'm getting so frustrated about this and I know how important Christmas is, I really do.

"But for goodness sake will we stop all this waffling of wanting to be loved and wanting to be liked.

"They are leaders, they're in charge say what is right for the country and what's going to save lives.
