Lorraine Kelly rages at Dominic Cummings' 'breathtaking arrogance' in blistering rant

Lorraine Kelly lashed out at Dominic Cummings' "breathtaking arrogance" on Good Morning Britain today.

The 60-year-old presenter unleashed her fury at Prime Minister Boris Johnson's aide and his lack of apology on the programme today.

Cummings has been widely criticised for driving over 250 miles from London to his parents house in Durham when his wife had coronavirus symptoms, despite the government's own rules telling Brits to stay at home during the pandemic.

Yet the prime minister has refused to sack his senior aide, saying that he had "followed the instincts of every father".

A GMB poll conducted on whether Boris Johnson should have sacked Cummings revealed that 80% of viewers reckon that he should have.

Asked whether she was surprised by the result, Lorraine simply replied: "Not at all."

She continued: "What I think is really shocking about it - no apology! The arrogance is breathtaking."

Ben Shephard agreed, pointing out: "A blanket refusal to accept what has happened here... it might not look great."

Lorraine responded: "Do they not think that when the spin doctor becomes the story that it's time to go?

"That's always been the case in the past but clearly not now. And I can clearly understand why people are so angry."

Speaking to ITV correspondent Jonathan Swain, she branded Cummings' lack of apology "dangerous".

She was also stunned by the anger of his neighbours, shouting "shame" and "resign" at him while he stood outside of his home.

"It's like Game of Thrones," she remarked.
