Lorraine Kelly launches jibe at Prince Andrew following YouGov poll result

Lorraine Kelly has a very unique way of hitting people where it hurts while swearing a smile on her face.

She’s managed to put many a famous face in their place over the years - more recently the likes of Esther McVey and Jennifer Arcuri - the woman at the centre of the Boris Johnson ‘affair’ scandal.

Back in June Lorraine hit out at the Conservative MP and her former TV colleague, saying she “strongly disagree with her on LGBT+ rights.”

Just a week ago Ms Arcuri felt her wrath after taking part in a  Good Morning Britain interview and saying, well, nothing much of interest.

'What’s the point in you coming down and not saying anything?' she enquired, directly to a shocked Ms Arcuri.

Today it was Prince Andrew who got on the wrong side of the Scottish host thanks to a YouGov poll about which of the royals should be funded by the public.

Lorraine, 59, was speaking to the programme’s royal correspondent Russell Myers about the fall out since Andrew’s interview with the BBC about his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

But it was the poll result that really ruffled her feathers, and she couldn't help but make her thoughts on the matter clear.

After thanking Russell, Lorraine said: “I must just share with you, there’s been a YouGov poll asking us all which royals should receive public funding.

“The queen unsurprisingly gets 71 per cent. Prince Andrew is way down at the bottom with 13 per cent.

“Frankly, I’m astonished that 13 per cent of people think that he actually should - but there you go.”

Elsewhere in the list, Prince William and Kate received 60 per cent, Prince Charles and Camilla got 51 per cent, and Prince Harry and Meghan received 38 per cent of the vote.

Lorraine airs weekdays from 8.30am on ITV.
