Lorraine Kelly has confirmed she will return to her ITV show on Monday after taking time off to recover from surgery.
The 65-year-old presenter underwent keyhole surgery earlier this month to remove her fallopian tubes and ovaries as a preventative measure.
Sharing an update on Instagram, Kelly posted a photo with her granddaughter Billie at a private clinic and wrote: “I had my check-up today and the fabulous @ahmed_raafat_gynaecologist_ says I can go back to work on Monday – as long as I take it easy.”
She went on to thank the medical team who supported her recovery, saying: “Huge thanks to Mr Rafaat and his top team who’ve chosen to work here and help us – from countries like Croatia, Nepal and all over Europe, Africa and the Caribbean – what on earth would we do without you.”
Earlier in the week, Kelly shared a picture of herself in bed with her granddaughter, writing: “Thanks so much for all your get well wishes. Billie providing the best medicine ever with lots of cuddles for her granny.
“Hopefully back to work on Monday. I’ve missed you.”
The Glasgow-born star, who last year celebrated 40 years in television, said she had not “been feeling all that well for a little while”, which prompted her to seek medical attention.
The operation, known medically as a laparoscopic bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, is often done to reduce the risk of ovarian cancer.
She previously assured her Instagram followers that she was going to be “totally fine” and would see them “really soon”.
The host underwent surgery at Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot, Berkshire, later travelling back home to recover.
Previously speaking about the surgery, Lorraine told fans the procedure was done for “purely preventative” reasons.
“Just wanted to let you know I'm having a wee procedure today. I've not been feeling all that well for a little while, so I had some scans and tests, and I have to have my ovaries and my tubes taken out,” she said.
“It's purely preventative. It's going to be with keyhole surgery, which is incredible. I'm being very well looked after, and I'll obviously see you really soon, and I'm gonna be totally fine.”
