Lorraine Kelly hits back at 'awful hair' comment from troll with savage comeback

Lorraine Kelly hilariously hit back at a troll on social media who blasted the ITV presenter's "awful hair" and suggested she needed a haircut.

The unflattering hair critic tweeted: "I really think Lorraine needs a makeover hair is awful I’m surprised no one has mentioned this time for a short cut."

But, the ITV presenter wasn't take the insult lying down and replied: "Well good morning Cathy - only problem - when I have short hair I look like Wilson from 'Castaway' (if you know you know)."

Lorraine was referring to Chuck Noland's distressed volleyball named Wilson from the 2000 film starring Tom Hanks.

Fans of Lorraine furiously defended the Scottish presenter as one wrote: "Nooo, leave her alone, I think she looks great the way she is," and another added: "Lorraine is an absolute babe. If you have nothing nice or kind to say then keep your mouth shut."

"What a horrible thing to say! 6am is a bit early to be drunk, Lorraine looks amazing," a third defended and another said: "Why are some people so rude and judgemental what does anyone get out of making nasty, hurtful remarks, I just don’t get it! You look fabulous Lorraine."

Earlier this week, Lorraine returned to ITV after being sent home from the studio last week when she became suddenly unwell.

Last week, she explained: "When you have to be sent home from work early in the morning because you are suddenly attacked by a hideous bug and were looking forward to interviewing @adamlambert THAT!" Beyond disappointed but imagine if I had infected him !!!!!!"

Lorraine was replaced by Ranvir Singh who the ITV presenter thanked for jumping to the rescue.

On Monday, she returned to her ITV show and was asked by Good Morning Britain host Ed Balls is she was feeling better.

"Much better, thank you," Lorraine responded. "And can I say a massive thank you to Ranvir, who when I was sent home on Wednesday, rushed in and saved the day. Thank you so much, love, as always."

Later in the show, she told Dr Hilary Jones: "It was just a bug. Usually, I can bat them away but this time it just... It was a cracker! It just got me but I'm all good."
