Lorraine Kelly had a giggle on her show this morning as she addressed the Caroline Flack saga.

The TV host announced that she's decided to step down from her presenting role.

Lorraine, 60, made a small dig at the fiasco when she said: "As Caroline Flack steps down from Love Island, we're finding out who is set to replace her.

"Yes, that's showbiz."

Andi Peters, who was waiting in the wings, broke into fits of laughter at Lorraine's shocking "that's showbiz" remark.

Andi couldn't stop giggling as he joked: "Tell it is Lorraine, tell it how it is"

Lorraine, 60, also couldn't control her laughter as she attempted to address some speculation, infuriating numerous viewers

One viewer took to social media to air their anger, writing: "Lorraine she really is a catty old b**** isn’t she... holier than thou."

While another upset viewer added: "Sitting laughing at Caroline Flack potentially loosing her job. Not very professional..."

Lorraine's comment comes as Caroline has been at the top of headlines after she was charged with assault following an alleged row between her and her boyfriend at her London home.

The presenter was due to fly out to South Africa in the coming weeks to host the new series of Winter Love Island.

But she is now set to appear before magistrates just two days before Christmas, on December 23.

The presenter has now stepped down from her hosting responsibility on the show and confirmed the news on Instagram.

She broke the news, writing: "Love Island has been my world for the last five years, it's the best show on telly.

"In order not to detract from the attention of the upcoming series I feel the best thing I can do is stand down for Series 6."

She continued: "I want to wish the incredible team working on the show a fantastic series in Cape Town."

"And on a really personal level. I have never experienced such kindness and love in my whole life.

"Not just from friends and family who are always the greatest... but also from total strangers who send me messages to me offering help and understanding... please know that I see them."

She then finished the post with a tribute to her partner, Lewis Burton: "And my boyfriend Lewis... I love you x."

In a statement, ITV said: "ITV has a long standing relationship with Caroline and we understand and accept her decision.

"We will remain in contact with her over the coming months about future series of Love Island."

Lorraine airs weekdays from 8.30am on ITV.
