Lorraine Kelly freaks out that the 'ghost of David Bowie' is responsible for spooky set blunder

Poor Lorraine Kelly had a proper fright today when her ITV show suffered a rather spooky set blunder during an interview.

The Scottish TV host was chatting to Mika about David Bowie’s influence when the lighting went dark green before flickering back on again.

Lorraine was so unnerved that she suggested that Bowie’s ghost had messed with the lights.

She said: "Oh, that's quite spooky. "We mentioned David Bowie and look what happened."

The pair were left a little creeped out as Lorraine then asked the production crew directly if they had done it on purpose - which they denied.

She said: "Guys you didn't do that did you? That just happened?

"Ooh that has given me goosebumps, Mika. Nobody did that, that just happened. Wow, that was quite strange.”

Mika tried to go back to discussing Bowie’s greatness - but even he was visibly weirded out by the technical error.

“It’s very weird, it’s just given me the.... It all went green.”

A video of the moment was posted on Lorraine’s Twitter - and viewers were quick to comment about the Halloween-esque happening, including Shameless star Tina Malone.

Another viewer said: “Did you catch the weirdness on #Lorraine this morning while interviewing Mika?  The moment they both mentioned #Bowie the studio turned luminous green for no apparent reason!”

A third said: “Me and my partner were both shocked by this!.. We thought you had planned a halloween surprise until we saw your reactions.”

Another suggested: “#lorraine you been played at by your crew making you all green. Good luck Mika with your new album . Congratulation for winning the award.”

Lorraine airs weekdays from 8.30am on ITV.
