Lorraine Kelly has revealed just as her show started to bring guests back in the studio, they have now been forced to go back to only video calls.
The news comes amid a fresh spike in coronavirus cases and new lockdown measures implemented.
Lorraine filmed a video diary on Friday where she told viewers she was disappointed but that she enjoyed getting a sneak peek into celebrities houses.
“Hi good morning to you, we are just about to go on air,” said Lorraine.
“This week things are a bit different, we actually started off the week very excited that we were allowed guests in the studio.
“And we had gorgeous Felicity Kendall here, but everything has changed now so it’s going to be back to talking to people in their houses, in their kitchens, and we can have a wee look in their houses which is actually quite good.”
She pointed the camera at Dr Hilary Jones, who was behind Lorraine in his spot at the table where they discuss the latest health updates about the virus, socially distanced.
“But it just means that we’ve obviously always got Dr Hilary,” she said.
“But no more guests for now, but hopefully things will change.
“He’s great, he’s been reassuring us all, making sense of all this, which is absolutely invaluable.
“Doing it every single day, which is terrific.”
“Now, I’ve got to stand over there in a minute so I’ve got to go!” she added as the camera pointed over to her spot in the studio where a masked member of crew waved.
Lorraine spoke to Alison Steadman on Friday’s show via a video call, and the actress admitted she would be “in heaven” if Gavin & Stacey returned.
Alison, who played Pam Shipman on the sitcom written by and starring James Corden and Ruth Jones, said: “Maybe, maybe, maybe, I've no idea.
"I would be in heaven if that happened.
"But we don't know if it will."
