Lorraine Kelly excitedly gushes about Christine Lampard's new baby boy

Lorraine Kelly expressed her excitement over the birth of co-star Christine Lampard's baby boy.

Christine, 42, and former footballer husband Frank welcomed son Frederick on Monday in a tribute to her dad.

Reacting to the news, Lorraine opened up about her happiness while speaking to fellow showbiz pal Emma Willis.

She said: "We just saw our Christine has had a little baby boy and everybody was just like, 'Yay!'

"It's the best news right now, isn't it? It's just new life going on, which is just fantastic and we can see that there's an end to this."

Christine shared an Instagram post yesterday to confirm that she had given birth and attached a photo of herself with the newborn.

She wrote: "Let us introduce you to our newest addition. ..Frederick (Freddie) George Lampard! We are completely in love."

The presenter is seen holding her little baby boy in her arms in her bed at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

Christine had been due to give birth in April, so her boy came a little earlier than originally planned.

Her Loose Women co-stars flocked to Twitter to congratulate the mum, with Stacey Solomon commenting with crying and heart emojis: "Love u."

While Holly Willoughby wrote: "Awww congratulations you beautiful mamma... huge love from all of us... can’t wait to meet little Freddie."

Kate Ferdinand also commented: "Congratulations to you all enjoy the bubble xx."

Keith Lemon congratulated her, writing: "Well done! Big congratulations! X"

Christine gave birth to her first child Patricia in 2018, which was a tribute to Frank's mum.

She explained the reasoning behind the "old-fashioned" name at the time on Loose Women, saying: "It’s very old-fashioned, very traditional but it was Frank’s mum’s name and that’s where it comes from.

“Patricia was Frank’s mum, who I sadly never got to meet. Frank was obviously incredibly close to his mum and it’s one of his biggest sadness’s that I never got to meet her. She passed away the year before we met.

“So we’ve gone with the traditional grandmother name and it’s Patricia Charlotte, which is my grandmother’s name.”
