Lorraine Kelly has discussed the benefits of wild swimming and says it leaves her feeling refreshed and revitalised.
The 61-year-old TV host shared her top tips at keeping fresh during her hectic career - as well as the anxieties of her job and the inability to sleep before big interviews.
Wild swimming became increasingly popular over the course of the year, and Lorraine was recently introduced of it herself.

Speaking to Closer magazine, the TV icon said: “I didn’t think it was for me. But I was filming a documentary to mark the 25th anniversary of the the Dunblane Primary School tragedy when one of the parent, whose son was murdered, for me into it.
“He found it helped him cope, and it certainly calms and resets you. It’s a brilliant way to de-stress, and you come out feeling mentally and physically revitalised.”
Opening up about her adventures in the wild waters, she continued: “I go once a week, and I’ve swam in Orkney and Loch Tay in Scotland, and the Thames. I even took a dip in Antarctica, for a nanosecond, and I’ll join a wild swimming club soon.
“For anybody who has access to safe water, it’s a good thing to do. You’ll need a wetsuit, unless you’re hard as nails!”
During the interview, Lorraine also revealed that she sometimes struggles to sleep at night when she is nervous about a major interview the next day.
On her ITV talk show, Lorraine has grilled major stars including Harrison Ford, Oprah Winfrey and One Direction.
But she admits sometimes she gets so nervous she can’t sleep – and she usually has to be in bed by 9pm due to the 4:45am start for her morning talk-show.
She said: “I sometimes take awhile to fall asleep, especial if I have a difficult interview the next day.
“I now keep my phone and iPad just outside the bedroom.
“I avoid caffeine in the late afternoon too – I don’t have it beyond midday and I read to relax.”
While interviewing Anthea Turner on Tuesday, Lorraine revealed she shuns plastic surgery – while ageing gracefully.
The star said: “I’m frightened of Botox. Does it not mean that you’re not able to move your face?”
While Anthea – who “swears by Botox” – laughed: “I haven’t looked really angry since I was 40. And, my goodness me, you know I have been angry.”
Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV.
