Lorraine Kelly confronts shoppers over stockpiling for coronavirus

Lorraine Kelly has stunned her many viewers by admitting she's confronted people about stockpiling as people flock to supermarkets in response to the spread of coronavirus.

On Monday, while briefly appearing on Good Morning Britain, she hit out at people who have been bulk buying by ranting: "For the love of God stop buying pasta and toilet roll."

And then on Tuesday's edition of her own ITV show, she took things further by revealing that her anger about people panic buying had led to her having a go at those who have if she's witnessed it in a shop.

Speaking to a guest in the studio about how supermarkets are coping with the spread of coronavirus and their advice to shoppers to stop panic buying, Lorraine vented: "It's driving me crazy. It's really, really annoying me. I've actually called people out in the supermarket for doing it."

Pictures have filled social media over the past few days of queues of people armed with trolleys waiting for supermarkets to open and we've all seen photos of empty shelves as people across the UK clamour to get items like toilet roll, pasta, bread, tinned food and paracetamol.

In his speech to the nation on Monday, PM Boris Johnson told people to avoid going to bars, theatres and restaurants, work from home wherever possible and told those in 'at risk' groups, including pregnant women, to isolate for months.
